holland

Ever walked the Holland State Pier?
It's a good time on a beautiful day here in MICHIGAN. Summer & Stephanie preferred to CLIMB the ROCKS the whole way rather than WALKING on the PIER!

locks of love

For THREE YEARS Summer has been growing out her hair. She has been waiting and waiting for her hair to be long enough to donate to LOCKS OF LOVE.
Well, last week, it was TIME!

BEFORE...

DURING...thanks Aunt Sara!

GOING...GOING....

GONE!

AFTER and BEAUTIFUL!

Our SWEET SUMMER, always CARING and WILLING to give. Today you blessed another LITTLE GIRL with a chance to have some PRETTY blond hair. May your heart always be filled with LOVE.
Way to go, Summer!

road trip

ROAD TRIP!
Pack your bags, get in your seats, buckle up, take off your shoes, make sure you have your blanket, stuffed animal, juice box, fruit snacks, pretzals, string cheese, crayons, markers, coloring books, books to read, DVD player, movies
...and a SMILE ON YOUR FACE
because HERE WE GO!
We made it to Indianapolis in about four hours, excited and ready to check into our hotel. For the girls, the hotel is almost the best part of the trip with complimentary cookies, breakfast, swimming pool and hot tub and the OK to jump on your bed.
DOES IT GET ANY BETTER?

Dave & Buster's
for dinner and games with some Grand Rapids friends (believe it or not we both went to the great Indianapolis for Spring Break!).

The girls played games for almost two hours to get 305 tickets
...and the prize is...wait for it...
10 squishy frogs!!!!!

The main reason Indianapolis was our Spring Break destination was to visit the FAME headquarters. FAME is the main organizer of our medical mission trips. They have a wonderful office, warehouse area, and staff here at FAME. If you ever are in need of a place to volunteer and happen to be in Indianapolis, this would be perfect!

At FAME the girls decorated bags for the kids that will be receiving
medicines on upcoming trips.

Downtown Carmel, Indiana was about one mile from our hotel and there are life size, life-like statues all over doing random things like a police man with a whistle, a dad and daughter riding bikes, a old lady with some groceries, and a gentleman reading a newspaper.

In Carmel, we met some friends from the mission trip for dinner at Bub's Burgers. That's right, home of the BIG UGLY BURGER. Highly recommended by them. It was a fun place with great company, and great burgers!

Indianapolis Children's Museum is a very cool place, but our advice: stay away during Spring Break.

Indianapolis Zoo was a great time with a dolphin show, butterfly dome, goats to PET and LOVE, and swimming polar bears.

It was a great trip.
Time to go HOME.
So,
